Wildfire burning in hills above Azusa

A 25-acre wildfire, named the Zebra Fire, is burning in the Angeles National Forest in the hills above Azusa Monday night.

Firefighters are actively battling the wildfire, located west of Highway 39 near the mouth of San Gabriel Canyon. The fire has a slow rate of spread and no homes are threatened at this time, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

Six firefighting helicopters have been dispatched to the fire. The fire remains uncontained as of 11 p.m.

“Firefighters and helicopters are making good progress,” the L.A. County Fire Department said.
